Kakunodate Samurai Town & Akita Fermentation Tour by Private Car

Hello, I'm Toru. I am a National Licensed Guide-Interpreter. I spent 25 years working in Bangkok, Thailand, where I gained extensive experience in international communication and cross-cultural business. At the age of 50, I returned to my hometown in rural Akita, where I now work as an English instructor and interpreter. I teach conversational English, academic English for entrance exams, and English for job seekers. I also work as a technical interpreter. Recently, I spent two weeks in Noheji, Aomori, providing interpretation for training programs related to wind turbine damage recovery and electrical troubleshooting. In addition, I have been involved in inbound tourism projects. At the request of Akita Prefecture, I accompanied foreign travel journalists for four days, introducing them to local culture, food, and craftsmanship. When visiting Kakunodate, for example, I introduce traditional local dishes such as kiritanpo, Inaniwa udon, and oyakodon. Kakunodate is also well known for its cherry blossom samurai district and traditional cherry bark craftsmanship, called kabazaiku. Through my work, I aim to connect people, technology, and regional culture through clear and accurate communication.
