REGGIO lies at the centre of the Mediterranean area: this is where I was born, in May 1983; I am originally from southern CALABRIA, facing Sicily, and from NAPLES islands area. I have a degree in ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE and a master in HISTORY OF SCIENCE. Since 2021 I work as a TEACHER of Italian language for Foreigners, mostly at Reggio, Messina, Palermo Universities. ITALIAN is my mother tongue and I fluently speak SPANISH and ENGLISH, due to my academic education abroad, using Spanish language, and my personal life: in fact my wife and I talk in English to communicate between us. Furthermore I have a certain basic knowledge of several other languages. También puedo acompañar a los visitantes que prefieran un guía en idioma castellano. I am often engaged in VOLUNTEERING for cultural organisations, being a volunteer for several environmental, artistic and cultural NGOs in Italy, Spain, Turkey, Chile, Germany. When student I lived for 3 years in Spain and later, around 2015, I spent, together with my sister, a year in South America. I worked, as a proper Tour Guide, in CHILE and ESTONIA while I have been guiding in a voluntary capacity in several countries. I am well experienced in travelling in Calabria with relatives and NGOs members. Furthermore I am the responsible person for international relations of "Re Italo" UNESCO Club of Reggio. In 2013 I wrote a BOOK in Italian, concerning the HISTORY of Reggio and also a booklet, which had been translated into English, with text, captions and photos, about Reggio province. Both works were published under the patronage of the Province of Reggio and personally distributed in 78 Libraries/Universities/Schools/Institutions in 41 countries, world-wide. I love discovering new places and cultures and appreciate landscape, sensations, smells, tastes, flavours and meeting travellers and talking with them. I am also a fan of paper maps. To date I took part in 62 International Meetings and have been in some 55 Countries of the world (between 43° South and 69° North). People usually consider me as an ADAPTABLE person who CARES about the others. I am FLEXIBLE and able to CUSTOMISE TOURS according to travellers needs. The area where I propose the tours is the southern province of CALABRIA, the 'toe' of the Italian peninsula, facing SICILY; it corresponds to the present-day Metropolitan Area of REGGIO, the place where the ASPROMONTE Mountain meets the IONIAN and the TYRRHENIAN seas. Reggio AIRPORT (REG) is tre-times-per-day connected with Rome-Fiumicino and weekly connected with several cities in Europe; nearby airports are located in Catania (CTA) and Lamezia Terme (SUF). Reggio is served by a PORT, (nearby ports are at Villa San Giovanni and Messina), by several RAILWAY stations and by the A2 Salerno-Reggio MOTORWAY, the SS18 Naples-Reggio and the SS106 Reggio-Taranto nationals roads. Despite the earthquakes for which Reggio suffered along the history (in 91 BC and then in 1562, 1783 and 1908 the most destructive ones) it still maintains picturesque constructions, many archæological sites and handsome landscapes. The area had been inhabited by Ausonian-Italic people before Greek arrived, in the 8th cent. BC, becoming a crucial, for both commercial and cultural reasons, region of Magna Græcia: famous Riaci Bronzes can be enjoyed by all into the National Archæological Museum of Reggio and the ITALIOT-GREEK language is still spoken on the Ionian side of Aspromonte. The whole province boasts historical spots and cultural references from Italic, Magno-Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Arab, Norman, Swabian, Aragonese, Angevin, Ottoman, Spanish, French and Bourborn ages, often representing a link between Neapolitan and Sicilian kingdoms; although it faces at the same time many modern architectures. REGGIO, THE PLACE WHERE, SOME 3500 YEARS AGO, THE NAME 'ITALY' WAS FIRST USED, IDEALLY REPRESENTS THE WHOLE MEDITERRANEAN AREA · Degree in FORESTRY-ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE (Italy, 2007) · Master's Degree in HISTORY OF SCIENCE (Spain, 2010) · DELE, Spanish Certificate, C1 level · CEMS, English Certificate, B2 level · TEACHER of Italian for Foreigners certificate (2019) · TEACHER of Italian for Foreigners -periodically- at: Università per Stranieri di Reggio (since 2022); Università di Messina (2022-2024); Università di Palermo (2025-2026). · TOUR GUIDE at: MuStruMu (Reggio -ITALY- 2019); Tumlare (Tallinn -ESTONIA- 2016); Estonian Holidays (Tallinn -ESTONIA- 2016); Turavión (Santiago and Valparaíso -CHILE- 2016) · TRAVELS WRITER at TripsByTips (via telematic, 2013). · Volunteer at Museo de Ciencia y Tecnología (CHILE, 2015) · Conference SPEAKER at Universidad de Santiago (CHILE, 2015) · University Research Assistant at Universitat de Barcelona (SPAIN, 2008)

Situated on the southern tip of the peninsula REGGIO is the place where, some 3500 years ago, the name "Italy" was first used. It had been inhabited by Ausonian-Italic people before been a Greek Pólis, important maritime and cultural centre, hosting academies of art, philosophy and science. Reggio was a Municipium under Romans and then a Byzantine Metropoli and cultural centre. After the Arabs it passed under Normans, Swabians, Aragoneses, Angevins and Spaniards. Later, except brief French and Austrian rules, it was under the Bourbons of Naples; in the 19th cent. was described as «one vast garden, and doubtless one the loveliest spots to be seen on Earth». Reggio is my birth-place and I did tours here for years in a voluntary capacity. Lungomare, with the view of Sicily and the Mediterranean sea, is where we best find the soul of a southern Italian town. The 500 tiny classic car represents the spirit of the coastal towns in Italy: a tour on a 500, in Reggio, means a full-immersion into Italian life style.
