Explore Barolo your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Barolo tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Barolo for every interest, including:

Food and Drink tours: Sip nebbiolo at family-run cellars like Marchesi di Barolo or Borgogno, comparing single-vineyard crus in a guided tasting. Pair your wines with tajarin and local cheeses at a trattoria in La Morra, then cap it with hazelnut gelato in nearby Alba.

Nature and Wildlife tours: Walk vineyard trails between Barolo, La Morra, and Monforte d’Alba on the Bar to Bar route, with your guide pointing out native herbs and the best viewpoints for photos. Follow a licensed trifolao and dog into the woods at dawn to search for white or black truffles, then taste them shaved over eggs.

History tours: Step into Castello Falletti to visit the WiMu Wine Museum and see how winemaking shaped daily life here. Stop at the colourful Cappella del Barolo and wander lanes where your guide shares stories of noble families and growers.

The village centre is walkable, but vineyards and hill towns are spread out and public transit is limited. You can book chauffeured tours or tours with private transportation, or ask your local guide to arrange transfers between wineries and viewpoints.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Barolo inside and out.
