Hi, I'm Carmel, and I am a qualified SPSV driver-guide. I am passionate about local, sustainable and responsible tourism, that is growing rapidly nationally across Ireland, and globally. Step out of the tourist track and get mixing with the locals on beautiful, unspoiled Loop Head. It's a day of rambling along, interpreting the local history, geography and ancient stories of the area, and of course eating some locally produced yummy food. Travel along some of Ireland's most beautiful (and hidden!) coastline of the Wild Atlantic Way. Includes a 30-minute breathtaking cliff walk in the town of Kilkee, and a visit to the Loop Head lighthouse, where some of the most recent Star Wars movie was filmed. Breathe the fresh air and be prepared to be blown away on this beautiful, less commercial and unspoiled Irish peninsula.
Carmel was a very good guide, and this tour was interesting. I would recommend her and the tour. She provided insights into the lives of the Irish people from the past and as they are now. The short hike on a paved path along the coastline was nice.
Carmel is a lovely person. She is witty, patient and a joy to be with. She is very knowledgeable and welcomes questions and always has this right answer along with a fun story to go along with it. She was easy to communicate with and met all our requests and needs. She took our thoughts and weaved them with her vast nature of the terrain and history into two beautiful days. In spite of occasionally difficult weather we walked the cliffs and towns I encourage you to travel with Carmel.
This custom tour covered the Loop Head route in County Clare and the Dingle peninsula, with some of the most spectacular coastal views in the world. Carmel is a native of County Clare and knows all the best sights, restaurants, transit routes and local businesses--her knowledge and judgement is superb. She adapted easily to changes in schedule and my dietary restrictions, was very informative about Irish history. Most of all, she was kind and patient, a marvelous tour guide. Highly recommended!
