Baluarti is the name of the society residence complex inside the wall of Kraton Surakarta. It has a traditional art and culture of which is mostly influenced by The former Kingdom of Surakarta. Therefore traditional art and culture such as traditional dance and gamelan music are practiced and happening every day. One of the interesting activities in this village is to have a chance to learn how to cook, Indonesian ingredients, delicious Royal cuisine. So you will have the opportunity of trying to play Gamelan, dancing and have a cooking class at Baluarti cultural village.
Your Solo Surakarta tour itinerary
Pick up service at the Hotel at 8 am, then shopping for ingredients at the traditional Market. Drive to Kraton Surakarta and meeting the host at his home which is located inside the wall of the palace. Introduction to Indonesian spices and ingredients, then start the cooking class program for about 2 hours. Home hosted lunch after cooking with locals. Sightseeing tour inside the Kampung of Baluarti, to learn how to play Gamelan and experience Javanese traditional dance. Drive back to the hotel and arrive at around 15. 00 time.
