From there, we’ll visit Hrafnseyri, the birthplace of Jón Sigurðsson, where you’ll find traditional turf houses, a fascinating museum, and a cozy café serving homemade refreshments. We’ll then stop at a peaceful bird nesting sanctuary before continuing to the charming fishing village of Flateyri, where you’ll have time to enjoy lunch, stroll the harbor, and experience authentic Westfjords life. We will meet at the cruise harbor in Ísafjörður before setting off through the spectacular Westfjords. Our first destination is the breathtaking Dynjandi waterfall. We aim to leave as early as possible to beat the larger tour buses and enjoy one of Iceland’s most iconic waterfalls with fewer crowds. From there, we’ll continue to Hrafnseyri, the birthplace of Jón Sigurðsson, where you’ll explore the historic turf houses, visit the museum, and have the opportunity to enjoy coffee and homemade cakes. Next, we’ll visit a nearby bird nesting sanctuary to experience the incredible coastal scenery and observe local wildlife. We’ll then continue to the picturesque fishing village of Flateyri for lunch, time to explore the village, and a stroll around the harbor. Throughout the day we’ll make additional scenic photo stops whenever time allows before returning to the harbor in Ísafjörður.
