Please note I am the only approved ToursByLocals guide in Guernsey (St Peter Port), and can become booked up many months in advance, particularly on Cruise Ship port visits. Walking through St Peter Port & exploring Castle Cornet half day tour
Overview of your St Peter Port tour
This is a wonderful walking tour, visiting attractions within St Peter Port. I will meet you either at the tender pier or outside the entrance to the Town Church. We will start our tour with a beautiful walk alongside a yacht marina towards the Liberation Monument. Hear stories about the German Occupation and how this affected my local family. We will then move on to the cobbled streets of St Peter Port, stopping to view a mural depicting many famous Bailiwick of Guernsey residents. We will carry on towards the Town Church, famous for being the closest church to a public house. Onwards to Castle Cornet, which dates back 800 years, where inside you will have a private tour. At the end of the tour, you are free to stay inside the Castle to view 4 museums at your leisure. For morning tours, I recommend guests stay to watch the firing of the midday gun by men dressed in militia uniform. Visual aids will be used to enhance your experience and to make the most out of your visit!

Your itinerary for this 3 hour tour:- Depart the tender pier, outside the Town Church or at your hotel (if in the centre of St Peter Port) either morning or afternoon. We will view:- Visitor Yacht Marina Ship & Crown Pub (famous during the Occupation and noted in the Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society book/movie) Liberation Monument Mural at Moores Hotel Barrier de la Ville (town barriers dating back to 1700) Sir Isaac Brock's house and plaques dedicated to him Town Church (from outside only) We will visit:- Castle Cornet At the end of the tour you may wish to stay inside the Castle to visit the four museums and/or watch the firing of the midday gun. Otherwise I will accompany you back to the starting point of your tour. The tour can be customised according to your preferences, please inquire
