Enjoy a day tour around the colonial city of Antigua Guatemala, one of the three World's Heritage sites in our country. Perfect for your visit while the cruise ship docks at Guatemala's Pacific coast, 1 1/2 hour away from the coast, you'll notice the elevation change, along with the ecosystem and the fresh weather difference. Nestor communicated very well before the tour, was waiting at the port on time with a visible sign. Nestor was extremely knowledgeable about Guatemala and all of central america. Nestor was ready and waiting for us we disembarked our ship in Puerto Quetzal. He was very friendly and responsive to our questions. We drove to the Center of the old City of Antigua in the mountains, and Nestor demonstrated an extensive knowledge of the local history and evolution of the culture. We visited a park overlooking the city and then we toured through several buildings of historical importance. We were taken to a restaurant and introduced to several dishes of the local cuisine, which were all delicious. We were returned to the port with plenty of time for some souvenir shopping before embarking back on the ship. We would highly recommend Nestor for a memorable tour of the City of Antigua.
My husband & I were picked up promptly at our port (we were on a Princess Cruise Ship). Nestor was our private guide & Luis our (excellent) driver for our day tour of Antigua. Nestor was very knowledgeable about his country and also exceptional in his information regarding Antigua. We enjoyed asking many questions & walking this lovely town with Nestor who has wonderful language skills in English, French & Spanish. We highly recommend this tour …ask for Nestor! We had a fantastic day with Nestor as he showed us around the old colonial town of Antigua, Guatemala. The mountain lookout overlooking the whole town with the volcano in the background was particularly special. Nestor was fun, courteous and extremely knowledgeable about the entire region. He made time for some snacks and even a little souvenir shopping. We would highly recommend him to anyone doing a tour here!
Nestor was terrific! He adapted the tour to our request and even researched a place in advance for us so he could take us there and show us highlights while keeping our timing on track. We had a special day filled with art, history, beautiful scenery, an amazing lunch with a view of the volcanos, and an afternoon ice cream break. - We meet at the cruise ship docking area of Puerto Quetzal as early as possible according to your ship's schedule. I'll carry a sign with your name so you can identify me - From there we drive an average of 1. 5 - 2 hr to Antigua Guatemala - On arrival, we will walk around the town's Central Square highlights and move on to visit the local market and souvenir shops - To eat lunch there are different choices: we can arrange reservations at a local restaurant with traditional meals; organize a gourmet experience at an author's cuisine restaurant; or simply buy fruits, snacks or sandwiches at any nice coffee shop. It's all flexible - We leave Antigua at any time we agree previous to your booking, in order to arrive in time to the dock so you can board your cruise ship before the deadline - Do not hesitate to contact me for a customized tour
