The oldest town in Denmark, Ribe from 700 AD and Jelling, the first Unesco World Heritage site in Denmark as well as Christiansfeld, a candidate to become World Heritage. The history of Denmark is important for the way we feel as Danes today. Whereever you are in Denmark, you'll experience stories about the vikings, about our kings over the centuries and you will see beautiful cities, towns and landscapes. I have conducted guided tours in most part of Denmark. In Copenhagen as well as Dragør, the old fishingvillage only 7 miles away from the city as well as to Roskilde with the cathedral and the fascinating vikingships. On Funen to Odense, the birthplace of our great fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen and to the castle Egeskov, which is almost a fairytale castle. In and around Aarhus with it's fantastic artmuseum, Aros as well as the openair museum Den Gamle By and also to the Lake District and the site of the viking fortress Fyrkat. And my own area with Ribe and Jelling as well as the fantastic ruin castle in Kolding and biking- and walkingtours in the beautiful hilly landscape of Eastern Jutland. 30 years back I lived in Kolding town and for the first time enjoyed the medieval castle rising over the town telling stories about numerous Danish kings, wars, and even Napoleon. Kolding was the gateway to Denmark for many centuries, and therefore a royal castle was built here. The river running through the town used to be the border to the duchies north of Germany. This history is depicted in the town. For the last 27 years I have lived in the municipality of Kolding and for the last 15 years offered guided tours in the town. Often with locals who are thrilled to learn something new about their own town. The historical castle uniquely renovated in an alternative way by the Exner is one part of the tour. The sights in the city; church, townhall, renaissance houses, medieval crossing site over the river is another one. Modern design is the third part of the tour.

A guided walk in the Design Area of Kolding, including the Campus Area as well as Design City Kolding itself, telling about the outcome of focussing on Design.
