Let me share with you my passion for a good story, Danish history at its best and everything worth knowing about Danes, happiness and our renowned "hygge". I am an Authorised Guide graduated from Roskilde University and work as a full-time guide. I have lived in Copenhagen for most of my life but also lived in England for a long time allowing me to view Denmark both with the eyes of an insider and an outsider. I enjoy making history come to life. I may put the huge Danish Empire of the past back on the map, sometimes the Vikings come out complete with war paint, tattoos and dragon ships, or I may give my guests a real sense of the life of the Danish Royal family as it unfolded itself at the numerous royal palaces and castles. Whilst walking, cycling or driving around the back streets of medieval Copenhagen I enjoy creating a picture that appeals to the imagination and the senses of my guests; images that bring to life the carriages rattling over the cobbled streets, the hustle and bustle of city life and the distinctive character and smells of the old city. But what about Danes today? You might think that, being amongst the happiest people on the planet, Danes are walking around with a permanent grin on their faces. Well, no they are not but I will make sure that, by the end of our tour, you will know exactly what makes Danes so happy. In Copenhagen the absolute majority use bicycles and public transport to get around so naturally most of my tours are on foot or bicycles. Should you prefer to travel by car I will arrange for a car with a professional driver to take us around the city or further afield to visit the royal castles North of Copenhagen or Roskilde with its cathedral and Viking Ship Museum. Some Swedes think that Danes are untrustworthy anarchists. True or false? We could nip over to Sweden to re-visit old Danish territory and learn what the Swedes are like! Should you not quite find what you are looking for in my list of tours just let me know and I will tailor-make a tour just for you. Authorised Tourist Guide (University of Roskilde) BA in Business Studies from (Copenhagen Business School) Under Danish law I cannot act as driver whilst guiding.

A visit to Roskilde takes us all the way back to the Viking Age and early Christianity in Denmark. We will take a look at our Viking ancestors, notorious traders, looters and conquerors that they were. We will also acquaint ourselves with Harald Bluetooth who took it upon himself to christen the Danes. Starting from your hotel we catch the train to Roskilde. Strolling through historical Roskilde we visit the stunning Cathedral which dates back to the 12th century and is a World Heritage site. Walking down through the park towards Roskilde Fjord we then visit the Viking Ship Museum which provides a great insight into the world of the Vikings. After having seen the original five ships excavated from the bottom of the fjord we have a look at the museum workshops and the replica viking ships . At the museum café we can have a snack or a lunch sampling food inspired by food the Vikings would have eaten - in a modern sort of way.
Meeting at your hotel we travel to Roskilde by train. Strolling through Roskilde we visit: Roskilde Cathedral The Viking Ship Museum Along the way we have a break for a snack or a Viking inspired lunch at the museum café We return to Copenhagen by train and then back to your hotel
