Poreč with its Riviera is nowadays the biggest summer resort place in Croatia, located on Western Istrian Coast. Established during the period of Roman Empire as Parentium, the old town has many historical and cultural attractions, among them the most valuable is Euphrasiana, one of the best-preserved still in use early Christian complex, with its world knew Basilica from 6th Century with authentic Byzantine mosaics from the same period, which are one of the best-preserved ones in the world. The whole complex is UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site since 1997. Tour includes a pleasant flat walk through the old town, visit the remains of Roman Forum with Neptune Temple, and detailed explanation of interior of Euphrasiana with narthex, baptistry, the Roman house remains, Bishop's Palace and Basilica. As a guide, I enjoy various architecture in Poreč, as well as being a place how the "wheel of History" brought some extremely prosperous periods as well as complete disastrous periods of time.
Walking tour highlights: - Bus Station :) - Promenade - Old Town - UNESCO Euphrasiana - Main Square Please note: tour and itinerary can be set and arranged up to you specific needs, wishes and requirements.
