Enjoy a day of visiting the main features of Istria. Join me in discovering the amazing history, culture and local life of the hilltop towns of Motovun, Groznjan or some of the beautiful coastal towns like Poreč, Rovinj or Pula. Learn about the differences of living on the coast vs hinterland, notice the differences in food, local customs and people. We will visit one of the main truffle producers so you can taste the magical ingredient that has marked the gastronomy of the Istrian hinterland. Among the beautiful views of the land and the sea there's a possibility to have lunch in a local inn (konoba) where the food comes directly from the owner's garden. (Lunch is not included in the price of the tour) Explore the ancient places constructed by the Romans in the 1st century B. C.
Our tour guide, Hrvoje, was outstanding! He customized our day to help my husband explore where his family was from and his extensive knowledge of the region was so helpful! We learned so much from him about the history of Pula and its historic sites as well as other local towns. Our full day tour was worth every penny!
Our tour of Istrian hill towns (Grozjan and Motovun) also included wine tasting at a great vineyard and a visit to Porec. The tour was conducted by Hrvoje R. 'H' is an extremely personable and knowledgeable guide and a great ambassador for this interesting and unique and beautiful part of Croatia/ Europe. We learned a lot from H about each of the places we visited as well as what it is like to live in Croatia as a Croatian. We all enjoyed spending the day with H and highly recommend him. Great job!
