Monteverde Cloudforest Down to Earth Natural Lifetime-Experience

Henry did an excellent job managing our challenging group, He was able to identify the changing needs and offer suggestions My original plan was to visit the sloth rescue and hanging bridges. Mario, our driver, did an excellent job navigating the winding, rocky roads for the 2 hour drive from the Puntarenas Cruise Port. The ride, however, soured my son, daughter-in-law and grandkids (ages 8 and 11). They refused to do the hanging bridges trail. After visiting the sloth rescue, Henry suggested alternatives. He made a reservation for lunch at the Treehouse Restaurant and a visit to a hummingbird garden. Henry pointed out the various species of hummingbirds and explained how to tell the difference. Henry’s knowledge of the Monteverde area and ecosystem was very impressive! We learned a lot about the people and culture of Costa Rica. I would highly recommend booking a tour with Henry!!

Henry has been amazing from our first inquiry, through the booking process and of course the tours that he planned for us. Of our 6 full days in Costa Rica, we spent 4 with Henry! We would have never seen or experienced the true beauty of Costa Rica without Henry and his extensive background knowledge and amazing wildlife spotting skills. He has an unparalleled passion for his amazing country and is eager to share with visitors. Our bird-loving daughter has added nearly 50 species to their life list and couldn’t be happier. Our driver, ‘Vocho,’ was also wonderful, keeping everyone safe and comfortable on some very bumpy journeys! He was apprehensive and apologetic about his lack of English skills, but we were able to learn a lot from each other with patience and translator apps! Very sweet guy! Henry is an experienced, professional, patient and friendly tour guide. We enjoyed the experience of walking the Monteverde Cloud Forests and other relevant bird and monkey trails in the area. Henry patiently guided us for several hours following the path of the very elusive Magnificent Quetzal birds until we finally found them. I definitely recommend Henry as a tour guide.

We really enjoyed our time with Henry and his driver Francisco. We visited Monteverde National Park and Henry spotted lots of beautiful birds and wildlife. He has an amazing spotting scope that zooms onto the birds and allows awesome pictures from our phones. He then set us up for a wonderful horseback ride. We then spotted three 2-toed sloths to cap off a fantastic day. We need to come back and spend more time in Monteverde and with Henry!

Henry was the most wonderful guide. I read many reviews of many guides and tours and ultimately booked Henry for 3 days of tours. He was so knowledgeable and so enthusiastic about helping us to see Costa Rica’s amazing wildlife and he was a pleasure to learn from each day! He listened to what we were interested in and worked to insure each tour was a success. My husband and I were so pleased with all of the amazing sites and animals Henry showed us. His incredible ability to spot and hear the wildlife gave us the most incredible adventure in Costa Rica. It was truly a pleasure to get to know Henry and Dennis and to see the love for, not only the animals and the land, but for his native country It was definitely a trip we will never forget! Henry was an exceptional guide. He was mindful of the park rules, experienced at finding animals, quickly scoping them in, and letting us all have a look before the animal moved. We saw more than expected (good time of year). I would highly recommend him.
