I am an outgoing and friendly person who enjoys nature and culture and introducing foreigners to our Colombian way of life. You'll enjoy typical food from every region of Colombia, the warmth and kindness of people incomparable to anywhere else in the world which makes you feel right at home and the world-known beauty of our women, the amazing landscapes as you go from city to city, our folkloric dances and music such as Vallento, Cumbia, Mapale, Bambuco, Salsa which you can't miss because it's quite unique. Cali, for instance, is considered the Salsa world capital and indeeed we have the best dancers of that music genre. Enjoy the vibrant night life of our cities. I have worked as a tour guide and interpreter since 1997 and met a lot of different people from different countries and different backgrounds throughout the years and they always want to come back to a place that will welcome them with open arms and will make them feel at the core of a rewarding experience. Overview of your Cali tour
Visit with me the splendid Haciendas in the flats of our region where you'll experience the spirit of the late 1800's, its literature and the real lives of the people who occupied this idyllic region. We'll visit the place where the story of Maria was written by Jorge Isaacs as he lived his relationship with her and where original furniture is still kept. Learn about their story and the time they lived in. If you wish you can try a delicious "Sancocho de Gallina" or chicken stew for lunch which is a typical dish of the region of Valle del Cauca in the small town of Ginebra, a town well-known for their tasty cooking of this particular dish, then let's head to the Sugar Cane Hacienda/Museum where you can have a closer look at the main product of our state and see how they process it to make certain products derived from it. Do not hesitate to take your time to walk in the surroundings and appreciate the beauty of the landscapes that frame these places.
Your Cali tour itinerary
We will leave at 9 am from the Hotel, it will take us about an hour and 15 minutes to get to the first Hacienda. We'll take a tour around it and learn about the history of the place and the characters who used to live in it. If you wish you can get some souvenirs at the shops located therein. Then we will head down to have some lunch in the town of Ginebra. After we finish having lunch we will start our following trip to the sugarcane Hacienda where we can learn about it and see how they have processed this important and main regional plant through the different times in history in our gorgeous Cauca Valley. Finally, we will return back to the hotel.
