Just a short drive from Cali, this tour takes you into the lush forests of the western Andes, where vibrant birdlife, cool mountain air, and peaceful landscapes await. With an expert guide by your side, you’ll explore hidden trails, spot colorful species in their natural habitat, and enjoy close encounters with hummingbirds. Ideal for both beginners and experienced birders, this full-day experience offers a deeper connection to nature, local flavors with traditional meals, and unforgettable wildlife moments. Perfect for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone who wants to experience Cali’s wild side.
Your Cali tour itinerary
We’ll start with an early pick up at 7:00AM then head early to the KM 18, one of the best spots in Colombia for birdwatching. As the sun comes up, we’ll begin spotting birds, then enjoy a tasty breakfast at a local farm (finca). We’ll visit three lookout points, including the popular hummingbird area, where you can feed them and maybe even have one land on your finger! There are over 400 bird species in the area, with 250+ just at the farm with a possibility to spot between 50 to 60 different birds. Around 1:00 PM, we’ll stop for a local lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll take a walk in the local forest to look for the Red Partridge, a bird found only in Colombia, and maybe spot other animals and plants too. We’ll head back and drop you off at your hotel around 5:00 PM.
