Barichara Town Highlights

Welcome to Barichara, this piece of land is one of the 17 towns of National Heritage in Colombia and it is also known as the most beautiful town in the country. During this 9 hours tour, along the way you'll see one the deepestes canyons in the world called Chicamocha Canyon. Once we get to the town you will enjoy the calmness of the streets. Its colonial architecture, the cobbled streets, the artisan workshops, the town's main church, some chapels and sculptures among other things that makes it so famous. You will have the chance to make your own handcrafted paper from a local plant called Fique, an experience that you do not want to miss. In the surrunded area there are amazing viewpoints that we will visit during the walking. We will have lunch at a local restaurant where we'll enjoy the famous and tradicional ''cabrito'' dish, arepa and other fantastic flavours. See you soon!

It is recommended to start the day trip at 6:00 am. However, if you wish to start the tour earlier or later, I'll be flexible and adapt the tour to your desired schedule. Usually in the late afternoon/ evening will start the ride back to Bucaramanga. Due to the distance (3 hrs each way) this tour requires an early Pick up from Hotel / Airport. Along the way we will enjoy the scenery of the amazing Chicamocha Canyon. Once we get to the town we are going to made a lovely walk tour within Barichara and surrounded areas. (Main Church, chapels, artisan shops, charming viewpoints). Around 3:00 pm, San Lorenzo Foundation is opened for the public, so we will have the oportunity to watch and be involved in the Paper Processing Experience.
