Historically, Suzhou (苏州, Sūzhōu) was synonymous with high culture and elegance, and generations of artists, scholars, writers and high society in China were drawn by its exquisite art forms and the delicate beauty of its gardens. Suzhou's historic sites have felt the effects of modern building booms, but the city still retains enough pockets of charm to warrant two to three days' exploration on foot. Discover the ancient charm of the "Paradise City" Suzhou on this fully guided tour. Explore the UNESCO garden such as Lingering garden - my favorite in southern China which I have visited dozens of times personally and with my family. Plus, we will visit Zhouzhuang -one of 6 most beautiful water villages in southern China, and experience the local private row boat. Row boating is always my favorite activity in Suzhou, which give you the best way to enjoy the slow life just like people used to be. I cannot row boat myself, even I tried many times, maybe you can help me this time!
Morning: - Private air-con vehicle pick up. - Drive to Suzhou old town by private transport. -- About 1hr40 minutes - Visit Lingering garden ( world heritage, one of the best classical gardens in suzhou). Duration: About 1 hour - Wander in Pingjiang Road and enjoy local lifestyle. About 1 hour and half (including lunch time) Free time for lunch by yourself (I suggest Su-style dim-sum for lunch). Duration: 1 hour. Afternoon: - 1 hour drive to world famous Zhouzhuang water village. - Zhouzhuang water village sightseeing and take a private row boat. Duration: About 2 hours. - Back to Shanghai.
