Hello! My name is Aubrey - a licensed tour guide and a certified UNESCO Cultural Heritage Specialist Guide (Macau), specialized in providing private tours in Macau. Born and brought up in Hong Kong, I went to University of Macau for my tertiary education. Apart from obtaining a bachelor degree, I met my wife here as well. Shortly after we are married, we moved to Canada. And in order to take care of our aging parents, we moved back. I worked in Hong Kong, Canada, China and Macau with people from different cultures. The exposure helps me to communicate and get along well with people. Currently, I am also helping out as a local (Macau) research assistant for the Egalitarianism Project hosted by the University of Bergen under Professor Bruce Kapferer. To be a licensed tour guide, I was trained for 180 hours and passed four written exams and a practical exam. Separate language ability exams were taken too. Hoping to provide the best service to visitors, I took a special course of "Cultural Heritage Interpretation for World Heritage Sites". Recently, I finished the research paper and passed the practical exam to become certified Cultural Heritage Specialist Guide for UNESCO World Heritage Site (Macau). Overview of your Macau tour
The settlement of Macau by Portuguese navigators in the mid-16th century laid the basis for nearly five centuries of uninterrupted contact between East and west. Macau, as the west's first established gateway into China, was remarkable in setting off a succession of connections and contacts that progressively enriched both civilizations across a huge range of human endeavour, both tangible and intangible, at a critical point in history. I will explore the city with you and explain the story behind different attractions. We will get around the city in a properly insured and registered 7-seater to make the best use of your time. **The tour is designed for 4 people for the best comfort of each guest. Your Macau tour itinerary
**Since this is a private tour, we can always adjust our pace and itinerary accordingly. Tour doesn't have to start at 10am but depends on your arrival time. 10:00am - pick up from Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal or hotel in Macau 10:15am - Penha Church, Mandarin's House, Lilau Square, Moorish Barracks and A-Ma Temple 12:45pm - lunch at Portuguese restaurant or Chinese dim sum restaurant 02:15pm - Leal Senado Building & nearby attractions 03:15pm - Ruins of St. Paul's, section of old city wall and Na Tcha Temple 04:30pm - Taipa House Museum, windshield tour on Cotai Strip with stops for photos taking and visit the Venetian Macao 06:00pm - drop off at ferry terminal or any location preferred by guest
