Hi, I’m Alan – your no-BS, licensed Hong Kong guide who turns a visit into stories you'll tell for years. Born and raised in Hong Kong, I've lived and worked in California, mainland China, and Korea, clocking over 1.6 million miles across the globe. After 40 years dominating international shipping, I retired and channeled that same drive into guiding—passing the rigorous licensing exams to become a fully certified professional. I've now led over 140 private tours (and counting), mostly for sharp American travelers and cruise ship guests who demand real value: authentic encounters, zero tourist traps, and the kind of insider access that makes their trip unforgettable. Having sailed on 15 cruises myself, I get exactly what shore excursion clients crave—seamless logistics, total flexibility, comfort without compromise, and genuine local immersion that feels personal, not packaged. I'm a master storyteller with a sharp wit and zero patience for boring scripts. Expect candid insights into Hong Kong's layered history, chaotic energy, lesser-known cultural layers and vibrant local scenes, and unbeatable street eats—delivered with humor and zero fluff. Whether it's decoding the city's colonial past, navigating vibrant markets like a pro, or uncovering lesser-trodden corners most visitors miss, I make sure you leave with memories that actually stick. Special requests? No problem—I've got you covered in advance. Want a private Tai Chi session in a quiet park or something completely tailored to your interests? Just say the word, and I'll arrange it seamlessly. Friendly, funny, fiercely passionate about Hong Kong, and always ready to go the extra mile. Let's skip the ordinary and make your time here legendary. Contact me to customize your perfect tour—because average isn't in my vocabulary. Tourist Guide: TG13125

During this action-packed 8 hours, in addition to the breathtaking view of the Victoria Harbor, you will take most pictures at the Nan Lien Garden and the adjacent Chi Lin Nunnery as you will see lots and lots of huge giant Bonsai Trees (not Bonsai plant in a pot), and lots and lots of giant river rocks. In the Central District, the “Wall Street” of Hong Kong, you will find yourself surrounded by ultra-modern cool buildings together with some Victorian-styled colonial old buildings. Then, our Asia-only doubled-decker Tram (we call it Ding Ding) and a few double-decker buses will pass you by while you are taking pictures. Before getting on the Longest Escalator in the world, I will take you to a street side grocery market and you can immerse yourself in the local neighbourhoods to experience how locals live. You can also taste local snacks and drinks created by Hong Kong people 150 years ago by blending the cooking skills and mixing the ingredients with the East and the West.
- We start with the Peak. - HSBC Headquarters and Central. - Ding Ding Double-Decker Tram. - Outdoor Market in Central. - Taste of Local Snack and Drinks. - The Escalator passed by Tai Kwun and SoHo Bar and Restaurant District. - Star Ferry cross the harbor to Kowloon. - 1881 The Heritage and The Peninsula Hotel, both are over 100 years old beautiful colonial buildings. - Chi Lin Nunnery: 1400 years old Tang Dynasty styled beautifully re-constructed Temples. - Nan Lian Garden: Filled with Giant Bonsai and Giant River Rocks, all imported from China. - Bird Garden, Flowers Market and Gold Fish Market: All in the heartland of Kowloon, very local area. - Local lunch at your own expenses, Dim Sum or Won-Ton Noodles
