Mogao grottos, maijishan grottos, binglingsi grottos from Han Buddhism are all listed as the World Heritages by UNESCO. Labrang monastery was reputed as the top learning institution for tibetan Buddhism. Ta'er monastery is the holy place with a lot of mistery , where the founder of yellow section of tibetan Buddhism was born. Wutun monastery and Longwu monastery are both famous tibetan monasteries in Tongren , where is the hometown of Regong art, the special national intangible cultural heritage in Tongren. Especially if you meet the right time from June to August, you can visit the original religious shocking scene of June celebration only can be found in the villages of Tongren.
