I have been to the Benue National Park several times with different groups of tourists and they were impressed by the wonders of nature found there. It is one of the oldest protected areas in Cameroon. It was first of all created as the Benue Fauna Reserve on the 11 of November 1932 before its enactment into a national park in 1968. In 1981, it was retained as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. It is located in north of the country and covers an area of 180, 000 hectares. It is characterized by wooded grassland with faunas such as hippo, Derby's Eland, elephant, cob, hyena, waterbuck, warthog and monkeys. But sure to cut off from the rest of the world ass the lodges of this park don't have running water, internet and electricity. You will enjoy real adventure!
