I am a friendly, outgoing, outdoor enthusiast with more than 8 years experience in managing organised tours for both groups and individuals. I love my country and can't wait to show you all it has to offer, including stuff you won't find in any guidebook! Up to July 2022, I have now had the pleasure of welcoming guests from 56 different countries - and I hope to welcome many more. Every tour can be a unique experience, so whether you're into city sightseeing, nature trekking, exploring history and culture, spotting the unique Borneo birds, partaking in adventure sports in our pristine waters, shooting wildlife photography, trying your hand at traditional basket weaving, experiencing blowpipe with my jungle friends, seeing 500 year old archaeology digs, and trying out new & unique jungle foods - or simply meeting new people - I look forward to sharing my knowledge and introducing you to the real Brunei and my friends from the many different cultures we have here. Amongst the tours that I offer, you'll of course find the "normal" day and half day city sightseeing tours (which I aim to make much more than a normal experience), but for those looking for a bit more, I have what I hope are some more distinctive and different offerings. And of course if you'd like to mix and match elements of one tour with another, I am more than happy to come up with a custom itinerary, just for you! When I am not taking guests out on tours, I am always exploring my country to meet new people and discover new experiences, increasing participation in our cross-community endeavour Kommunihub, where we share our different cultures and are always learning new things. If you've only got a 1/2 day here in Brunei, then no worries as I can take you to visit at least four of the interesting sites around our capital city, whatever takes your fancy. If you are interested in Brunei's cultural history, there are museums to explore, showcasing His Majesty's life and rule, the indigenous life of the water village and different tribes and even a 16th Century shipwreck. For those interested in the beauty of wildlife, we can take a river tour to the mangroves with a chance to see Borneo's unique proboscis monkeys. I can also personally guide you around either of our beautiful mosques, demonstrating our rich Islamic identity and how it is important to our harmonious life here. It was an interesting and at the same time relaxed tour of the key sights of Bandar Seri Begawan, which was exactly what we asked for! Irene was extremely friendly and made a big effort in entertaining our two little kids and adapting the tour to their needs, which was greatly appreciated. Thank you very much Irene, we had a great time in Brunei with you!
Irene was an incredible ambassador on behalf of Brunei. We had a half day tour that checked all the boxes. She was very prompt with communication and waiting for us inside the port area. We were whisked off to all the important sights in the city which included a tour of the mangroves and the water village. What was particularly wonderful was a visit to a private home (the skipper of the boat) to have delicious snacks and an insight to their interesting life on the water. Irene was flexible, charming, funny and felt more like a friend as soon as we started talking! Do not take a ship excursion while in Brunei and definitely book a half or full day with Irene. She and her country were absolutely fabulous !!
Irene was great. I contacted her last minute and she was free to help me out. Although it was a Friday and alot of things were closed we still managed to pack alot into 4 hours. Even got to see the monkeys. Irene herself was fantastic, full of information about brunei and had great English. I highly reccomend her as a guide.
Our 4-hour tour with Irene exceeded our expectations. Irene is very professional yet very friendly and approachable. She was flexible to accommodate what we most wanted to see and made sure we had a relaxing and enjoyable time. The boat tour to the floating village (including a visit to a traditional home) and river (where se saw lots of proboscis monkeys and some crocs) was the highlight of our trip. Really recommended on a stop-over in Brunei.
Irene literally saved our day! It turned out that we did not choose the best day to visit Brunei as Friday is classically a slow day. She was still able to fill it with content: river cruise, city cruise, visit at a local family. Loved it! Highly reccomend.
Whilst sceptical about what we would see/experience in Brunei, your short tour was absolutely amazing g. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour regardless of the rain. We have already told many family members and friends not to miss this tour if transiting through Brunei Airport at any time. The tour has wet our appetite to return at some time into the future. 5 out of 5 Stars, thankyou.

The Malay Technology Museum (indigenous culture from Kampong Ayer and native tribes) 8. The Brunei Maritime Museum (16th Century Brunei shipwreck displayed with it's precious cargo) 9. The Kota Batu Archaeology site (16th Century artefacts and the 3rd Sultan's tomb) *Please note that on Thursdays and Fridays, both mosques are closed to non-Muslim visitors. ** His Majesty's Palace is only viewable from the entrance, admission to the Palace is only during the festivities of Hari Raya for 2 days per year.
