Hi, I am Raf, and welcome to Brussels! A native Belgian, I moved to Brussels in 2008. In a nutshell: I am a freelance guide in the city & multiple museums, a freelance musician, and a lover of history and languages. Originally from the Flemish countryside, I have gotten pretty engaged with this city, through my work as a guide in museums and out on the streets, as a musician (cathedral singer), as a coworker, teacher,... Brussels has a rich history, beautiful architecture, lively church communities, great musicians, myriads of languages, colourful minorities, major political institutions... To me, it has been the source of countless opportunities and experiences, discoveries, and yes, challenges too - as in life, so in Brussels. I would be happy to be your guide, and tailor a visit to your needs as good as possible. Please remember that all my tours can be customized according to your requests. Let's have a chat!

Brussels is a small yet cosmopolitan city, with a remarkably diverse population and landscape. From the historic city center and grand monuments to lively markets, political institutions, old industrial zones, and elegant bourgeois homes—every corner can reveal a completely different world. A bike tour is the perfect way to experience this variety. I cycle through the city all the time—it’s a bit hilly, and not all streets have bike lanes, but it’s still the fastest and most fun way to get around. I’m really into it! This tour will take you off the beaten path, through areas many visitors miss but that are full of character. We’ll explore the canal zone, the old industrial heart of Brussels, multicultural working-class neighborhoods, green corridors, and massive, unexpected monuments. And of course, if time allows, we’ll stop along the way!
Meeting point: Metro Bourse elevator (near Boulevard Anspach 90) Tour highlights include: - Bike rental and orientation - The old harbor area around Place Sainte-Catherine - Molenbeek: local markets, a striking modernist church, and Chocolaterie Blondeel - Tour & Taxis: a former freight transport hub, now a vibrant cultural site - Laeken Church & Cemetery - Laeken Palace and the Monument to the Belgian Dynasty - The iconic Atomium - The Japanese Tower - A scenic ride through the old riverbed park - Brussels' "Manhattan" district, with its striking high-rises This tour can be tailored to your preferences—extended into a full-day experience, shortened for a quick ride, or redirected to explore other areas of the city.

-A fairly good physical condition is required for the basic programme (18km). -No emergency transportation is included in case of trouble (though a subway station is never too far away). -The tour does not include an insurance. I will do my best to keep you safe, but will ask that you sign a form where you accept full legal responsability over your participation in this bike tour. -Can be booked on shorter notice as well (3hrs) but then we may have to be a bit more flexible about bike rental prices and meeting point.
