Tour guide in Rotorua Nigel W.

Kia ora! I’m Nigel, and it would be my absolute pleasure to share my love for Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty — a region rich in beauty, history, culture, and an extraordinary relationship with Mother Nature. After years of guiding friends and family and more recently driving for one of New Zealand’s most prestigious chauffeur companies, becoming a professional guide felt like the perfect way to combine my passions and skills. I’m proud to showcase this remarkable corner of Aotearoa to visitors from around the world. I offer boutique private tours to some of New Zealand’s most iconic destinations — the geothermal wonders and Māori cultural experiences of Rotorua, and of course the world famous Hobbiton Movie Set - but I also love revealing the hidden gems: natural springs, cave walks, waterfalls, bubbling mud pools, and countless surprises tucked away off the beaten track… often right beside the road if you know where to look! OR if you’re more interested in treasure hunting through local thrift stores, playing a relaxed round of golf, or unwinding on one of the world’s most beautiful beaches, I’m happy to tailor a tour just for you. I’m an avid traveller myself, with a deep appreciation for history, sport, and culture — but above all, I’m passionate about meeting new people. While I enjoy sharing my home region, I’m equally excited to hear your stories and learn about where you come from. Your comfort, wellbeing, and safety are my top priorities. My vehicle (and any additional vehicles for larger groups) is fully certified for commercial passenger service. I myself am also licensed to drive passenger vehicles and also first aid trained for your peace of mind. I can’t wait to welcome you on a personalised tour that captures the spirit, culture, and natural beauty of our region.
