Year after year, Paris has consistently been the #1 tour destination at ToursByLocals. It's beloved by millions, as a place to visit and re-visit with loved ones. Today our guide David - a ToursByLocals guide in Paris since 2011 - joins us to share how Paris is becoming a safer place to travel to, again.
After a two months stay-at-home order to stop the epidemic, France is now a safe place to travel to, and - like the rest of Europe - is opening its borders to a whole list of countries that were also successful in limiting the spread of Covid-19, namely Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea... these countries’ nationals can come and visit with no need to quarantine.
In fact, this summer is probably a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit Paris in truly extraordinary conditions. ToursByLocals guides are unanimous! We have never seen this before: no line at The Louvre, immediate access to the Eiffel Tower, and restaurant outdoor terraces have doubled in size, but only until September.
This is an amazing time to visit, on foot, on bikes, by metro; it's all safer and more accessible than ever.
All museums, restaurants, cultural places, art galleries, bakeries and hotels have reopened. The Eiffel Tower re-opened access to the second floor by both its stairs and elevators on July 1st. Only discotheques and stadiums stay closed for safety. Trains and airlines have resumed operations.
There are a few Covid cases each day, under 10 a day in Paris. Each individual case is identified, investigated, and isolated along with their relatives and colleagues, so new clusters are immediately closed. Wearing masks in public transportation is compulsory, and hospitals have resumed regular operations. Very few Covid-19 cases are still in intensive care - less than 500 for the whole country on July 1st. These numbers have continuously diminished since early May.
France is now probably safer than most countries, and could just be the best place to visit this summer. ToursByLocals guides are here to welcome you and take good care of you, whenever you choose to come to visit.
