Danube Delta wonders, two days tour from Constanta

The tour will take you to the edge of the Delta, where the land is still forming, taking you on a trip down the channels leading to wonderful lakes, century-old unique forests, wild-life rich habitats. You will be able to see Delta's famous water lilies -white and yellow, pelicans, herons, wild horses, all within reach on a day or half a day boat trip. Here, nature is wild and the air is very clean, the beach is near and the history is rich (Sulina was the under the administration of the European Comission of Lower Danube between 1856 and 1938, with more than 20 consulates and a vibrant commercial life). A trip of a lifetime in such a unique setting.

We leave early in the morning from Constanta, reaching Tulcea, where we'll leave the car, and take a speedboat to Sulina, in time for lunch and a short tour of the city, visiting the town's Greek, Russian and Romanian churches and the international cemetery of the town. A trip to the beach is also an option. Then we are ready for the evening tour, heading down the Sulina branch towards the sea, going near the newest island formed, the Island of birds, and watching the sunset on the Musura Bay. The next morning we embark on another tour, visiting the lakes south of Sulina, on winding channels, seeing the pelican colonies on the lake and the wild flowers. We finish with a traditional lunch and leave for Tulcea, reaching Constanta in the evening Customization: for a longer tour, on the second day we can replace the lake visit with a tour to Letea, which is longer, includes a safari ride and a visit to a unique lake and an enchanting forest. That may mean a later arrival in Constanta or another night in Sulina
