Olá! I'm Ana, an Official Licensed Tour Guide based in Lisbon. Portugal is one of Europe's oldest nations, with centuries of history, traditions and fascinating stories waiting to be discovered. My goal is not simply to show you places, but to help you understand what makes Portugal so unique. As a full-time professional guide, I have dedicated my career to creating meaningful and enjoyable experiences for travellers from all over the world. I love bringing Portuguese culture to life through history, art, local traditions and the stories behind the places we visit. My journey began with a degree in Tourism Information from the Estoril Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotel Studies. Later, I obtained my Official Tour Guide license through the SNATTI professional examination and have been guiding professionally since 2014. What guests often appreciate most is not only the information I share, but the relaxed, personal atmosphere of my tours. Every traveller is different, so I always adapt the experience to your interests, pace and expectations whenever possible. Whether you are visiting Portugal for the first time, returning to explore it more deeply, interested in history, culture, gastronomy, hidden corners or iconic landmarks, I'll help you experience Portugal beyond the guidebooks. Let's create unforgettable memories together! For groups of up to 3 guests, transportation is provided in my comfortable private vehicle. Larger groups can be accommodated with a private driver and premium vehicle upon request.

Discover the enchanting town of Sintra through its history, traditions and mysteries. After leaving Lisbon, we'll explore the historic centre of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that inspired artists and royalty for centuries. Our journey begins at the unique National Palace of Sintra, whose distinctive chimneys have become one of the town's symbols. Beyond the stories of the kings and queens, we'll discover a remarkable collection of historic Portuguese tiles and learn how this art evolved over time. We'll then stroll through Sintra's charming streets while tasting the famous Queijada and Travesseiro, two local specialties deeply connected to the town's traditions. The highlight of the day is the fascinating Quinta da Regaleira, where gardens, tunnels and symbolism come together in one of Portugal's most intriguing estates. As we explore, we'll uncover the ideas and beliefs that inspired its unique design. Perfect for travellers interested in history, art, local traditions and Sintra's mysterious side.

Ana is fantastic!! She is very timely, very knowledgeable, professional and fun to be with. We had a great time on our tour of Sintra and the castles. I would definitely recommend any tour with Ana!!
Ana was amazing, as was the tour; she was super-outgoing and spirited, and had such tremendous depth of knowledge of the history, the art and the architecture of everything we saw in Sintra. We especially loved all of the fascinating back-stories she provided of the historical characters we were learning about; this made the history particularly fun, light-hearted and approachable. A definite five-star recommendation for Ana and this tour!
Ana is great as a guide and made us feel welcome. She provided very comfortable transportation and is extremely knowledgeable about Sintra and the areas we covered. She also made great restaurant recommendations once we got back to Lisbon. Would highly recommend.
Wow, what a wonderful day! We are both seniors with bad knees and have felt dragged along by many guides. Ana was able to adjust her tour for our needs. Yes, we walked everywhere but at a pace that worked for us. She was able to provide well-timed breaks and rest before we needed to ask. Her passion for her heritage was evident and her knowledge unquestionable. This is our third ToursbyLocal and everyone has been top notch.
Ann customized the tour to meet our interests. We toured the two monasteries at Tomar and Batalha and the convent at Alcobaca. Ana was extremely knowledgable about architecture and Portuguese history and explained both in a very clear and sequential manner. As we were moving onto Sintra, she very kindly drove us to our hotel after she toured us through the national palace of Sintra. We were able to ask lots of questions about Portuguese society, and culture. She's great!
