Hello and welcome! My name is Romy, and I am a licensed tour guide born and raised in Venice. Growing up between Piazza San Marco and Rialto — the historic, political and symbolic heart of the city — has given me a deeply rooted understanding of Venice that combines lived experience with academic expertise. I hold two degrees from Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, including a Master’s Degree (summa cum laude) in Art History and Conservation of Cultural Heritage. I am currently pursuing advanced studies in Theological Hermeneutics of Christian Art in Florence, specializing in the interpretation of sacred space and its symbolic language. For many years I have guided private travelers, families, academic groups and culturally oriented visitors from around the world. I am particularly accustomed to working with discerning clients who seek depth, clarity and a thoughtful, well-structured experience rather than a superficial overview. My tours are private, flexible and fully customized to your interests, pace and schedule. Whether your focus is art, history, architecture, religion, or the broader civilization of the Venetian Republic, I aim to present Venice in a way that is both intellectually meaningful and deeply engaging. As a native Venetian, I can also introduce you to perspectives that are often missed — quieter neighborhoods, historical context, and the subtle details that reveal how the city truly functioned and still lives today. With me, Venice is not simply shown; it is interpreted and experienced. I work comfortably with first-time visitors as well as with repeat travelers who wish to go beyond the main sights and explore the city in a more reflective and authentic way. I am happy to collaborate with travel advisors, agencies and tour operators, and to design itineraries tailored to specific themes, time constraints or special requests. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, reliable and passionate guide who combines local insight with scholarly preparation and a calm, personal approach, I would be delighted to share my city with you. I look forward to welcoming you to Venice. - Summa cum Laude Master Degree in History of Arts and Conservation of Artistic Heritage, Cà Foscari University, Venice. - Summa cum Laude graduation in Anglo-American and Hispano-American Languages and Literatures, Cà Foscari University, Venice. - Currently studying Theological hermeneutics of christian art, Facoltà Teologica dell'Italia Centrale, Fi. - Accredited Tour Guide License n. 08000879 (n°184, RA.) - Tour Guide insurance: AXA 406271056. Being an accredited Tour Guide I have no restriction.

If you want to receive an simple introduction to Venice and want to discover the city later by yourself in total tranquillity, this tour is for you, you'll see the higlights of Venice and some quieter calli. I've carefully chosen the stops on this tour to give you a real insight into the city. You'll start in the sestiere of San Polo, you'll cross the Rialto bridge, you'll walk through Cannaregio and Castello districts, to end in Piazza San Marco: you'll discover quiet streets, pass peaceful canals and go beyond the areas that visitors usually see. It will be a only two hour tour, a brief and yet effective introduction to Venice. At the end of the walk I may accompany you to have an unforgettable gondola ride which will give you a different perspective of Venice, from its canals. . .

We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Romy! We found her to be extremely knowledgeable, patient, and a fun person to spend an afternoon with. Because of the intense heat and bit of an illness with a tour member, she easily adjusted the pace of the itinerary so we felt like we missed nothing. Having Romy as our guide- a born and bred Venetian who truly loves her city- made the experience all the more enjoyable! I would highly recommend her tour to anyone considering a stay in Venice.
It was a great tour and very informative, learned things I didn’t know. Romy was an excellent guide, would highly recommend her. Even took us to her favorite gelato shop. Yum.
Ms. Romy… what can I say? Extremely knowledgeable of Venice, having been born and raised here. She seems to know the alleyway and waterways like the back of our hand as we say in United States. She was prompt on time for a tour of the meeting place was perfecto. She brings out the hidden gems in Venice. And when you look at a historic landmark, it’s more than just the beauty of it itself. It’s the function of purpose. She opens the door to the way it used to be in Venice with the international trades. She also paints a picture of the daily life in Venice. You will come away with such an appreciation of not only the beauty of the structures, but the culture in history of Venice.
Great tour to get an introduction to Venice. Romy is very knowable and knows how to show all the highlights. We enjoyed it so much — we booked the entire next day with her and the tour exceeded our expectations!! Highly recommend taking a tour with Romy.
Great tour, wonderful guide. A native of Venice, who shared with us what Venice is all about. The guide is very flexible and we all enjoyed the tour
