Welcome to Veneto! I 'm Sabrina and I am an authorized and passionate tourist guide, working in the Province of Venice and Treviso. I've been working in tourism since 2005 and being a tour guide has always been my dream. It goes without saying, that I love Italy as well as the region where I was born, Veneto. I am very proud of being Italian and taking tourists around to discover the treasures of my home land is most rewarding indeed. I have always been fascinated by the past, because the past provides the insight needed to uncover the reasons for the present. After my diploma in Tourism, I took a Master Degree in Language Sciences, focusing on Germanic Philology. I wanted to satisfy my curiosity by discovering historical works and languages, following the path of the history of human kind. I took many exams about Venetian history, and I also studied for a semester at the Warwick University in the UK and at the Venice International University. I am now studying to get a second Degree in Art History. These in short are but a few of the reasons why I am passionate about my work: I love observing past artwork and understanding its history, as well as sharing my knowledge with others. I try to pass on this enthusiasm of mine to everyone I meet. In this way they too can see the world with wonder, just as I do. This is the perfect tour if you want to discover the history and places of the World War I. We will meet in Venice or at the hotel where you are staying and together we will get to Piazzale Roma in Venice on foot or by water bus. There we will meet our driver and by private car we will reach Vittorio Veneto, where we will visit the Museo della Battaglia (Museum of World War 1). After the visit we will have a walk in Vittorio Veneto. We will then go the Nervesa della Battaglia where we will see the Piave River, where there was the front during WW1. We will then go the Abbazia S. Eustachio, a wonderful church destroyed during the Battaglia del Solstizio. We will have a wine tasting at the Winery Giusti. Eventual lunch (up to you) In the afternoon we will reach Treviso and we will visit this beautiful charming city. Return to Piazzale Roma in Venice.
Pick up in Venice (at the hotel or a meeting point - to be decided with you) The Treviso province was the place where the WW1 was fought. There are many memorials and museums dedicated to that sad period of the Italian history. If you are curious and you want to learn more, this is the perfect tour for you. During the tour we are visiting the Museo della Battaglia in Vittorio Veneto, which has been recently renewed and it allows you to experience life of soldiers in trenches and analyze in deep the historical events that led to the war. Vittorio Veneto is a charming little town in the province of Treviso. I will take you around to discover this beautiful place and to admire the wonderful medieval building. The tour will then continue towards Nervesa della Battaglia, where we will admire the Piave river and the Abbazia of S. Eustachio, where we will have a wine tasting. On the way back we will stop in Treviso for a short walk (or tour by car if you are tired)
