Hello and thank you for taking the time to take a look at my profile! I am an officially licensed National Tour Guide (plus Vatican city licensed) with an art history bachelor's degree and I truly love to share my knowledge and passion for this magnificent country. As well as being a true Roman (born here and lived here most of my life) with an in-depth knowledge of what this unique city has to offer, I am fully fluent in English since I have also lived many years in the U. K. First in Cambridge where acquired my bachelor degree followed by a loving time in London for a total of more then 10 years where I also acquired much experience in the tourism field. I am also half Swedish from my mother's side which makes me not only fluent is Swedish but the perfect bridge of cultures between the northern Anglo-Saxon, Scandinavian and the passionate Latin ones. Since my return to the eternal city I have acquired the official license as a tour guide which allows me to legally practice throughout this wonderful country and the Vatican city. Since 2022 I have also started working as one of the office tour guides for the American Embassy in Italy based here in Rome. Through this collaboration I have had the privilege and honor of touring with many political figures such as Ambassadors, Senators during their State Visits. It was true a personal privilege touring with Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House during her State Visit in 2022. I live in the Trastevere neighbourhood which is the most authentic of all full of romance and history…. the real soul of Rome! With over thousand of years of history, you never run out of things to see in what once used to be the "caput mundi" or 'capital of the world'. Walking tours, car tours, food tours, day trips to Pompei, the Amalfi coast, wine tasting day trips to Tuscany and truffle hunting in Umbria to name a few are all the many different activities that I regularly plan. So whether you are a small group, family, or a larger party and whether it will be your first time or you will be back for more, I offer bespoke private tours to your interests, knowledge, and energy level to create the best tour for you. I can provide transfers from the airport, the port of Civitavecchia as well as location transfers with a professional licensed driver by a/c Mercedes car or Van. (upon request) so feel free to contact me to enquire. I guarantee you will have an unforgettable experience and lifelong memories to bring back home with you. If you think I could be the right guide for you don't hesitate to contact me for any enquiery! Buona giornata, Mathilda Fully Licensed National Tour Guide Fully Licensed Vatican Tour Guide BA with honours - Cambridge I am not a driver. I can arrange private car tours in collaboration with licensed english speaking private drivers with luxury vans for up to 7 people.

Rome is by no means new to the culinary scene! With its traditional foods and passionate chefs, it's the perfect city for a food tour. I have selected the best local foods at my favourite places and will share with you all the fascinating stories that lie behind these iconic dishes starting with the fried artichoke in the Roman Jewish Ghetto (second oldest ghetto in the world dating back 1555); one of Rome's most iconic dish the "suppli'" (rice balls), the queen of all street food dishes, Pizza and of course in this case it is the Roman recipe, thin and crispy; through the oldest market of the City Campo de' Fiori we will also stop by the temple of cured meets for a taste prosciuttos, mortadella and different kinds of salamis and last but not least is a gelato stop for the best gelato in Rome (and yes the gelato shop has been open since 1900!). PLEASE NOTE the market is only open till 3pm. for evening hours tours the itinerary will start in Trastevere
- Jewish Ghetto - fried artichoke - pizza slices by the best pizzeria in Rome - Campo de' Fiori market - cured meets selection - Piazza Farnese - Pantheon - gelato stop Please contact me for customisation and in case of any food allergies.
