The museum houses an important collection of masterpieces from the Antiquity to the Baroque by artists such as Bernini, Raphael, Caravaggio and Canova. The Gallery, built between 1613 and 1614, is set inside the beautiful Borghese Gardens and was created by the cardinal Scipione Borghese, an important art collector, nephew of the pope Paul V. After this tour you can enjoy a walk trough the Borghese Gardens and go to the Pincio from where you will enjoy a memorable view of the Eternal City.

Wonderful tour with Francesca, who beautifully described the various works by Bernini(our favorite), Caravaggio, and others. This is a smaller museum, in comparison to that of the Capitoline or Vatican, but houses truly delightful works which captivate you. We often spent 10-15 minutes on a single work of Bernini and could easily have spent more.
An expert guide, like Francesca, so knowledgeable in art history, and the beauty of the Borghese gallery made all the difference in the world for our visit to that lovely space. Francesca knew how to align our threesome for maximum enjoyment of the Bernini sculptures. She guided our eyes toward Focal points we may have missed in some of the finest masterpieces in the world. cheerful, hospitable, Francesca, made us feel as though we were with a close friend who just happened to be an art expert!
Francesca's knowledge of art history is astounding. As we toured the Borghese gallery. She was able to explain the pieces, almost as if she knew each and every artist personally. Her ability to point out the final details of each painting and sculpture helped bring each of the pieces to light and provide a new perspective. Her narration of each piece gave our group, a new understanding of the times and abilities of each of the artist. I highly recommend Francesca as a tour guide.
