Overview of your Naples tour
With your private guide and driver, you will discover some of the most beautiful areas close to Naples such as Pozzuoli, an ancient Roman harbour, the Phlegrean fields, a large volcanic area, and Cuma (originally a Greek colony). We'll be departing from your Naples hotel or cruise port and head towards the Phlegrean Fields (Campi Flegrei), to discover this fascinating volcanic area. You will see the Solfatara, a Roman amphitheatre (Flavio) and a museum located nearby. We'll make a visit in Cuma and Pozzuoli where we will spend approx. 1 hour in each place. Cuma is one of the most important Roman harbours that are full of remains! You will also be able to walk the narrow streets around the old port and see the restaurants and taste some fresh fish if you wish so. Join me in this full day tour and discover the wonders, history and myth of the Campania region!
Your Naples tour itinerary
- Pick-up at the hotel at the time that you prefer and we will first head to Solfatara in Pozzuoli, a perfect example of Volcanism of the area. The crater provides an exhibition of volcanic columns of smoke and boiling mud with a strong smell of sulphur; - We will continue our tour going to Flavio's Amphitheatre, the most important record of Puteoli during the Imperial Rome. The attraction of the arena is represented by the extraordinary organisation of the underground network of tunnels; - Brief stop at Serapi, a temple located in the centre of Pozzuoli and then we will pass through Arco Felice, the majestic entrance to the ancient city; - Drive to the Acropolis of Cumae with Sibyl's cave and its temples; - Return to your hotel in the afternoon.
