Hi everybody, my name is Marcello. I'm specialized in high grade archeological and historical tours. Born and raised in Naples and belonging to a very old Neapolitan famiIy I've got the official license of Professional Tour Guide in 2000. Archaeological and historical tours are my core business but always based on keeping my clients "AWAY FROM THE MASSIVE TOURISM". I love my job. I love my country. I love giving not simple orientations but the "real essence" of every single spot you are interested in, observing all safety measures to reduce the Covid19 diffusion. My range of activities is the whole Campania Region, including all its archaeological and historical sites, like Pompeii, Herculaneum, Napoli, Paestum, royal palaces and museums. I'm also specialized in the painting of '500 and '600, like Caravaggio, Tiziano, Raffaello, Jusepe de Ribeira, Battistello Caracciolo, and all the painters who" mastered the light". In 2015 I've got specialization in roman currency as well. I do cooperate with the U. S. Syracuse University, and over the past years, I had interesting experiences while working with some International TV productions as expert in archeology and art. Visiting Capri is an unforgettable experience, but if you add the enchanting Sorrento and the World's most important archeological site. . . . well the experience becomes literally beyond any word. Capri is one of the very few places on Earth where you can be shocked by the most amazing wild nature, with its plays of color and light, and. . . its charming atmosphere. Walking through its maze of narrow alleyways, and breathing roman history, friendly people and, why not enjoyng an aperitif from a breathtaking terrace overlooking the blue sea. . . actually is beyond any word. I strongly believe that everybody should try it at least once in the lifetime! So the daily experience goes on in the magic of Sorrento where I will suggest where to go eating the best seafood or the World's best pizza away from the massive tourism and not making a "bank debit" (you know what I mean. . ). Last stop is Pompei where for two hours you will live the roman life like more than 2000 years ago.
Marcello is an outstanding tour guide, which is why we chose him again this year after we first had him as our tour guide in 2023. This tour he took us to Capri, Sorrento and Pompeii. Marcello’s passion and enthusiasm for the history of Pompeii and beauty of Sorrento and Capri are contagious. We highly recommend him and if we are fortunate to visit Naples again, we will book another tour with him.
Our tour was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful views of Capri and Anacapri from the chairlift and Montesolaro. Pompei was incredible and Marcello was the perfect tour guide. I recommend this tour.
Marcello was an amazing tour guide. Capri was great to visit but we were the most excited about Pompei. Marcello's archeology and anthropology background made the visit to Pompei much more interesting than it woukd have been otherwise. If time had allowed we wish we could have spent many more hours with Marcello. We'd definetly do a tour with him again.

This was a good tour overall. Guide knew a lot about Pompeii due to his archeology background.
We are group of 8, thoroughly enjoyed our day tour in Capri, Sorrento and Pompeii with Marcello. He's courteous and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
The tour starts, usually, meeting at the Port of Napoli or Sorrento. - The jet boat takes about 45 minutes to get to Capri. - Once there I will take you to see the town of Anacapri, known for the very famous Chairlift of Monte Solaro, which is the most amazing experience you can do over there. The view from the very top of Monte Solaro (the highest peak) is. . . like a religious experience. - The Town of Capri is different. More elegant, more charming. . . is the place where you can have a conversation with some movie star while you are relaxing drinking a glass of white wine. - After Capri we back to Sorrento (20 min by boat) for lunch and free time at leisure in its magic old town and than, as last step, we drive straight to Pompeii for the archeological tour. -back to the Port/cruise ship gate where we met in the morning.
