The adventures of Pinocchio was written in 1883 by the Florentine Carlo Lorenzini best known as Collodi: the town name in which the author lived for a long time. This very famous wooden puppet has been an icon for many generations across the world, he has even today lots of followers of any age and the book has been translated in any language with thousands of editions. In this walking tour across streets in Florence we will discover important places related to Pinocchio.
Our starting point it's Via Taddea 21 the birthplace of Carlo Lorenzini. Then we will look at squares, littles roads, historical sites, that have inspired the author for setting the scenes of Pinocchio's adventures. As well as discovering wood crafters stores that have been devoted to create Pinocchio puppet for many generations. And of course if in Florence you can't miss a visit to the Museum dedicated to toys and Pinocchio puppet, one of the greatest collection in Europe with more than a thousand items on display, collected by the association 'Pinocchio a casa sua'.
