Claudia took us to Aresco, a town she knows intimately, and shared exquisite details about the history, buildings, architecture, art and the life, when all the history began. The town was uncrowded, unlike Florence, so we enjoyed an intimate, leisurely stroll throughout the day. I should mention she arranged all the train fares, a welcome service. Our lunch was special. We dined in a spacious back room in a family owned "ristorante". The Grandmother and daughter served us. The food was FRESH and full of flavor. I ordered a "buffet" of fresh, grilled, roasted vegetables from the local farms. My pork roast was so tender it melted in my mouth. The variety-Abbondanza di cibo! I walked out feeling light as when I entered. Claudia gets all credit because she recommended the tour based on our input. It's a pleasure when a person listens and then performs accordingly.

La vita è bella ( life is beautiful) was set in Arezzo the film won 3 Academy Awards we will have the chance to look around the historic city center and took pictures at the locations of this famous Italian movie by Roberto Benigni. We can not miss Piazza Grande the spot for Saracino Joust , one of the most beautiful square in Italy , ideal for a lovely meal under the Loggia Vasari . Then we can visit inside Saint Francis church to admire Piero della Francesca's painting a Renaissance masterpiece . Gothic Cathedral and Romanesque Pieve it's a must for this tour as well as a stroll and some rest on top of the hills at the Medici Fortress Park and Petrarca house-museum. This full day tour will give you the chance to appreciate one of the most important cities in Tuscany and it's legendary past.

My trip to Arezzo with Claudia was a pure delight. My desire was to see a beautiful Tuscan town and this totally met all expectations. It was not a sunny day during our trip, but we were still able to enjoy all the town had to offer. The Christmas Market was still in swing on our Saturday in town so it was a lively and fun day to be there. All the cathedrals and sights we enjoyed were spectacular and Claudia was so knowledgeable and a real expert on the city. I appreciate all she did for me!!
