We will start the tour with a ride to the old city of Jerusalem and visit the most important sites for the 3 monotheistic religions. We will learn the extensive history of the city and understand its importance to these religions. After a fascinating tour of the old city of Jerusalem, we will continue our journey to the Judean Desert, and in its heart, the archaeological and historical site, Masada. First, we will admire the beauty of the site, a cliff jutting into the valley, We will take the cable car to the top of the mountain, and there we will hear about : one palace, one last battle. ready? The itinerary is flexible, for any changes please let me know.
On the tour, we will visit all 4 quarters of the city (Armenian, Christian, Muslim, and Jewish) and learn about the history and religious traditions. Among other things, we will visit the Western Wall, and the Temple Mount (on Fridays and Saturdays and Muslim holidays the Temple Mount is closed to visitors, instead the tour will visit the room of the Last Supper and King David's tomb), Via Dolorosa and the Church of the Sepulcher. After lunch we will hope back to the car and begin our descent towards Juda desert, With Jericho on our left we will turn south and drive along the Dead Sea, on the way we will talk about the importance of this geographical area for the 3 monotheistic religions and about its fascinating history, until we reach Masada. We will go up by cable car and visit the majestic palace of king Herods, hear and understand the stories of the heroism of the Jews during the Roman siege and try to understand why this battle, fought about 2000 years ago, resonates in the Jewish world to this day.
