As a resident of the Galilee and Golan for over 40 years I can take my guests to out of the way places and introduce them to the locals who will tell their stories first hand. The fascination I have for the local history allows me to show the many facets of Israel, be it Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Druze or Bahai alongside ancient history and current issues. The Sea of Galilee is the center of Jesus' early life and through the Galilean geography it is possible to get a better understanding of his message and calling which is relevant to all Christians and to Catholics in particular. Overview of your Galilee tour
After meeting in or around Tiberias we will visit a site or two in the Galilee and head east to the Golan Heights where I live. Forty years here have given me a wealth of stories and insights that I am sure you will be interested to hear! We will learn about the Golan's many facets through history and the present current event and geopolitical reality.
Your Galilee tour itinerary
We will meet and start our day together at your TIBERIAS AREA hotel and set out according to our prearranged schedule that can include: - A site on the way to the Golan if you have any preferences, religious or historical. - Visit the sites of the 6-day war and the 1973 war. - see where and why the wars started and how much the geography and terrain affected the outcome. - Hear about water matters in the region. - Enjoy a Druze lunch and hear about this unique people and their history. - Visit one of the sought after boutique Golan wineries. . . . or the olive oil center. - View Mt Hermon. - Return to your hotel by the evening.
