A Hike in Howth Head

It was a terrific day -- thanks Fergal! He's cheerful, professional and thorough. Fergal cut through our unfamiliarity with the DART and found us at the station near our hotel. He gave enlightening commentary on the way to Howth. The walk was more challenging in some areas than others, and Fergal was well aware of our capabilities, always making sure we didn't feel rushed. He worked with us to choose the route that worked best for the day. The views were awesome, and he had great ideas for time in town. I highly recommend Fergal and can't wait to book more with him next year.

This is a beautiful walk, and Ferg is the guy to do it with! If you have the time for this while in Dublin, I highly recommend. The scenery is amazing, and Ferg is charming and an excellent storyteller. He also went above and beyond in making sure I knew which train, and which stops to take. Howth was absolutely one of the best parts of my trip.

After a tour of the city with Ferg a couple of days earlier, he took us by train out to Howth for a beautiful hike. Ferg knows the north of Dublin very well -- geography, history, current inhabitants, pubs and restaurants, and great stories. We enjoyed all of these with him on this outing. I highly recommend taking this hike if you're in Dublin more than a couple of days - the sea and landscape are fantastic. A good long hike but not too challenging. We also enjoyed another opportunity to gab with Ferg over the train ride, hike, and pub stop. Cheers.

Fergal Bannon is one of the best guides I've had. He is extremely knowledgeable, accommodating, professional, and personable. He has a great sense of humor and he is simply a very interesting person with whom to converse. I learned a great deal about Irish culture, history, and politics from Fergal, and his well informed perspectives in those areas made for a rich experience—and all while I had one of the most enjoyable hikes just a short distance from the cosmopolitan city of Dublin.

Our Howth Head hike was waylaid by weather. Fergal was super flexible and we enjoyed a walking tour of historical Dublin instead. Thank you Fergal.
