(WALKING TOURS ONLY) Hi folks, I'm Fergal, it means "bright man" in Irish Let's see! Born and bred in Dublin, for over a decade I've been lucky enough to guide people around home town. I love to be able to stroll through the city and take in whatever that day's offerings are. I rarely take larger groups now as I guess I prefer a style of guiding that is more based on a chat rather than a lecture. No matter where you are from, I hope that to some extent I will be able to draw comparison between the way we do things here and the way it's done in your neck of the woods. It's incredibly important to me that my guests get an accurate and unbiased account of Ireland's history, culture and politics to name but a few, albeit given from a personal viewpoint. It's equally important to me that you enjoy your time in Dublin. A sense of fun, or 'craic' should be had by you and I both. I'm a bit of a generalist in terms of my tours. In a good days sight seeing we should cover a good amount of not only what's to see in Dublin, but also discuss many topics that will give you a strong insight into life here. However, if you have special areas of interest that that we absolutely must cover, even in great depth, let me know and I'll sort it. In fact that goes for each of my tour itineraries. Being inflexible is a most un-Irish characteristic, so lets not be too rigid. So why not drop me a line and we'll come up with a plan for your trip? - Failte Ireland qualified National Tour Guide - Dublin City Ambassador - City of a Thousand Welcomes Project - MA International Relations, DCU - BA European Studies, Trinity College - Erasmus, Sciences Po Bordeaux I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver. We may have difficulties guiding through the grounds of my alma mater, Trinity College or through the courtyard of Dublin Castle. We'll play it by ear though.

When I need to get out of the City Centre I go to Howth! The headland forming the northern arm of Dublin Bay, Howth is like a rural oasis in the heart of suburban Dublin. This tour is designed for those who are visiting Dublin for a short few days but really don't have much time to visit the countryside. Located 30 minutes from the City Centre, Howth Head has been a must for day-trippers for centuries. This walking tour will allow you see a different, more relaxed side of Dublin life. Let me take you for a stroll up the old 19th century tramline to Howth Summit, and then down the cliffside walk towards the old but still bustling fishing village. Don't worry though we'll be sure to stop for a pint or a coffee break around the half-way point! I have a few different routes that I can let you choose on the day. It all depends how active you are and want to be. There is a gradual climb of 130 m (425 ft), and the shortest route is roughly 7 km long (4. 5 miles), but we will take as many breaks as you need.
- Meet outside Howth local train station. - Review the route maps and choose which one suits best. We'll discuss which route is best suited for the weather and our form on the day. - Depending on the wind we will decide to go clockwise or anti-clockwise. It can be blustery on the cliff walk, it's easier with the wind at your back. - Around the half way point we'll stop for a pint and maybe a bowl of delicious seafood chowder in the Summit Inn. - Like with the ascent, plenty of time for photos on the way back down to the old fishing village. - It's always nice to finish with a stroll along the pier and see the trawlers and maybe even a seal or two! - I can accompany you back to the train station or leave you at one of Howth's many wonderful restaurants. If you're not into seafood there's plenty of choice for everyone. This tour can be customized to meet your needs, don't hesitate to message me!
