My family of 4 (including 2 kids ages 10 and 15 and 1 husband) had a GREAT time with Stefan. The tour was a great mix of walking and driving- he even took us to try our first Icelandic hot dog. Stefan is the kind of guy you can have a beer with but also go into detail about the different types of lava and Icelandic folklore. I appreciated the ease of talking to him and also allowing us to take the lead on what we wanted to do. (Yes, hot dog, no to another stop.) My youngest has Autism and Stefan made a special point to explain things in a more child-friendly point of view. If you do one private tour in Iceland, book with him. We are already thinking of our next trip to Iceland and we will definitely rebook with him. Thank you, Stefan!

Our tour from the port in Grundarfjörður took us around Snaefellsnes Peninsula and National Park. We had good weather and we were able to see clear views of the Glacier. We had a very comfortable ride in Stefan’s newest tour vehicle. Stefan was an excellent tour guide who explained the geography, geological history, geology, and Icelandic history of the area. Lots of beautiful views, waterfalls, rugged coastline, and lava fields.
Pick up from Grundarfjordur port. Those are the highlights... Snæfellsjökull Glacier: Majestic, snow-capped volcano, famously featured in Journey to the Center of the Earth. Kirkjufell Mountain: Iconic, pyramid-shaped peak, one of Iceland’s most photographed mountains. Arnarstapi: Picturesque fishing village with dramatic cliffs, sea arches, and basalt formations. Djúpalónssandur Beach: Black sand beach with unique rock formations and remnants of a shipwreck. Lóndrangar: Pair of towering, dramatic basalt sea stacks rising from the ocean. Hellnar: Scenic village with coastal cliffs and tranquil surroundings, perfect for exploring on foot (if time allows). Budir: Famous for its black painted church and nice scenery (if time allows). This tour normally lasts 5-6 hours.

The size and type of vehicle depends on the size of the group. All vehicles are registered, insured and licensed. All vehicles have air conditioning and heater as well as public address system. The price quoted is for a group with up to 4 persons. I can accommodate up to 22 persons in my largest vehicle. Additional charge applies for larger vehicles, but usually per person cost goes down a lot for bigger groups. Please ask!
