Hi, I’m Luis! Welcome to Honduras! I’m a Honduran tour guide and English–Spanish interpreter, and I absolutely love showing visitors the country I call home. I’m originally from Copán and studied Sociology and History, which probably explains why I’m always curious about the stories behind the places we visit. For me, a good tour isn’t just about seeing beautiful places and taking photos — it’s about understanding why they matter, meeting local people, tasting something delicious, and coming home with a few stories of your own. I’ve spent more than 20 years working with international visitors and exploring Honduras, and I know the country from its colonial towns and archaeological sites to its mountains, Caribbean coast, rural communities, markets, coffee farms, and hidden corners. I particularly enjoy sharing Honduran history and culture, Indigenous and Lenca heritage, architecture, gastronomy, coffee, nature, and everyday life. I also love birdwatching, photography, hiking, cooking, movies, and discovering new places to eat — so if you enjoy combining culture, food, nature, and a little adventure, we’ll probably get along very well! Travel has also taken me throughout Central and South America, the United States, Canada, and Europe. I’ve walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain, and those experiences have taught me something important: the best travel experiences often happen when you slow down, talk to people, and allow yourself to be curious. One of my favorite Honduran moments? Finishing a hike in the countryside, sitting in a hammock, and enjoying a cup of freshly ground Honduran coffee with handmade tortillas, refried beans, and local cheese. Nothing fancy — just wonderfully Honduran. That’s the kind of experience I love sharing with my guests.
