Hi, I’m Luis. Welcome to Honduras! I’m a Honduran tour guide and English–Spanish interpreter with more than 25 years of experience welcoming international visitors, mission groups, volunteers, and travelers throughout Honduras. I was born in Copán and studied Sociology and History. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with people from many different countries and backgrounds, and this has taught me that guiding is not simply about knowing facts, it’s about connecting with people, making them feel welcome, and creating an experience they will remember. For me, a great tour is more than visiting landmarks. It’s about meeting local people, tasting authentic food, understanding our history and culture, discovering beautiful places, and experiencing Honduras from a local perspective. I’ve explored much of the country, from Maya archaeological sites and colonial towns to Lenca communities, coffee farms, mountains, markets, the Caribbean coast, and lesser-known places beyond the usual tourist routes. I especially enjoy history, Indigenous and Lenca culture, architecture, gastronomy, coffee, nature, wildlife, photography, and hiking. I love adapting my tours to my guests, whether you are passionate about history, food, culture, photography, nature, or simply curious to discover a different side of Honduras. I’ve also traveled throughout Central and South America, the United States, Canada, and Europe. One of my most meaningful travel experiences was walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain. Being a traveler myself has taught me how important it is to feel welcomed, comfortable, and genuinely connected to a place. The Camino especially reminded me that some of the best travel experiences happen when we slow down, talk to people, stay curious, and allow a destination to reveal itself. My goal is simple: I want you to have a great day, learn something meaningful, meet local people, and leave Honduras with stories you’ll want to tell. Come curious, bring your questions, and let’s discover Honduras together! ¡Bienvenidos a Honduras!

Step into the heart of Honduras and discover Comayagua, one of the country’s most historic and charming cities. Explore its colorful colonial center, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, home to one of the oldest clocks in the Americas, museums, churches, and landmarks that reveal the stories shaping the city. Visit a local artisan chocolate workshop to learn how Honduran cacao becomes chocolate, from bean to bar, and savor its rich flavors. Along the way, I’ll share personal stories and insights into Honduras, its traditions, and the communities that keep Comayagua’s heritage alive. Relaxed, engaging, and deeply local, this experience goes beyond typical sightseeing, offering a meaningful connection to the city’s history, culture, flavors, and everyday life. Join me to experience Comayagua not just as a visitor, but as a welcomed guest.
