In 1992 Zhangjiajie was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its unique geological features, and since then it has become a favored tour destination for Chinese and Asian tourists. In 2009 the release of Avatar, with its Zhangjiajie-esque scenes, attracted more and more Westerners. Zhangjiajie has a great potential to rise and become one of the top ten tour destinations in China. The ancient town of Fenghuang was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List on March 28, 2008 in the Cultural category. This ancient town was regarded as the most beautiful town in China by New Zealand writer Rewi Alley. It was built in 1704, and has 300 years of history. The ancient city is a gathering place for Miao and Tujia ethnic minority. On this tour you will see these top two tourist destinations in Hunan province, China. Day 1: Zhangjiajie Arrival Pick you up at zhangjiajie airport and transfer to your hotel. Accommodation area: Any hotel in Zhangjiajie (book by yourself) Day 2: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park: Tianzi Mountain -- Yuanjiajie Scenic Area (Avatar mountain) Accommodation area: Any hotel in Zhangjiajie Day 3: Ten Miles Gallery (or Baofen Lake) -- Golden Whip Brook -- Huangshi Village Accommodation area: Any hotel in Zhangjiajie Day 4: Tianmen Mountain: (Rock Hole of Heaven's Gate -- Glass Skywalk -- The longest cable car of the world) -- Fenghuang Accommodation area: Any hotel in Fenghuang (book by yourself) Day 5: Fenghuang (Phoenix Ancient Town) -- Zhangjiajie airport Departure At the end of the tour, drop you off at Zhangjiajie Airport for departing. Private transports provided by our private car fleet. Notice: Private vehicles are not allowed to go inside the forest parks (Only the villagers' cars are allowed driving inside Zhangjiajie National Forest Park). Inside of the parks you will use environment-friendly shuttle buses, cable cars, etc. (However, If you don't want to take the shared public buses with other tourists inside of the national forest park, we can rent the villager's car at your own expense)
Airport: ,Cruise: ,ByGuide: Any hotel close to Landmark Entrance of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (It also names Biaozhimen Entrance or Wujiayu Entrance, located in east side of the park. Example hotels: Lee's Boutique Resort, Crowne Plaza Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan, etc.) There are a lot of hotels in this area. If you can't find a good hotel in this area, please contact me to get many more hotel recommendations.
