ToursByLocals Signs up First Martian Tour Guides in Push to Expand Private Tour Offerings

(Vancouver, British Columbia) – ToursByLocals, the world’s largest private tour provider, today announced that they are expanding their tour offerings to outer space: Mars.

With the company’s focus on helping travelers find and book local guides in nearly every city on Earth, the nearest planet was the obvious choice for further expansion.

“We’re already a world-class tour operator,” said ToursByLocals CEO, Paul Melhus, “But why stop there? It’s time we extend our reach to become recognized as the solar system’s best choice for inter-planetary tours.”

Mars is the logical first step in achieving this mission, with Elon Musk’s SpaceX ready to launch passenger rockets to Mars by 2022.

Paul Wooster, SpaceX’s principal Mars Development Engineer recently called upon the global community to step up and contribute to the Mars mission: “In terms of what will be needed on Mars, this is an area where […] lots of people beyond just SpaceX can really contribute." ToursByLocals is in preliminary discussions with SpaceX to grow Mars’ fledgling tourism industry.

“Elon Musk has a tendency to surprise,” says ToursByLocals Communications Director Sara Cooke, “He may reach his goal faster than anticipated, and if he does, our Martian tour guides will be ready.”

Just like on Earth, ToursByLocals guides have prepared itineraries that showcase the planet’s more “off the beaten track” spots.
