Yen Tu Mountain is located about 50 kilometres from Ha Long City. The heritage site is mostly situated on a mountainous region which is about 600m above sea level. With its peak at 1, 068m above sea level, Yen Tu is famous for its beautiful natural landscape and cultural heritage, called the anscestral land of Truc Lam Zen Buddhism in Vietnam. Upon arrival, board cable car for breathtaking ride to Yen Tu Mountain. Admire landscape with ancient pagodas and temples in pristine forests. Explore Yen Tu pagodas, temples, and towers in 2, 800-hectare reserve. Capture stunning limestone mountains. Hike 500m uphill (250 steps) shaded by green pine trees to Hue Quang Tower Garden. See statue of Buddhist King Tran Nhan Tong. Ascend 150 steps to Hoa Yen Pagoda from 11th century Ly Dynasty. Return to foothill by cable car. Visit Truc Lam Monastery, headquarters of Truc Lam Zen Buddhism Sect. Established by King Tran Nhan Tong after victory over Mongol invasions. Stroll through village with houses, temples, barbershops, coffee shops. Engage with locals for cultural insights. Experience essence of northern Vietnamese community.
