This highlight is interspersed with some rest and recuperation days relaxing in wonderful Rwandan scenery. From my experience, trekking those primates is an extraordinary and breath-taking moment. Canopy walk is one of the most longest canopy in Africa and it offers great view of the Nyungwe Forest and Lake Kivu. It is a nice walk as it gives you a chance to see different animals, birds, insects and amphibians that lives in the forest and you learn about it through out the walk.

We will also visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, resting place for more than 250, 000 victims of Genocide against the Tusti in 1994.

A mountain gorilla will never chase you when you are facing it and looking directly into its eyes. However, you should know that when threatened they can be aggressive. They beat their chests and let out angry grunts and roars. Group leaders will charge at the threat and mothers will fight to the death to protect their young.

The pride leader defends his females and offspring from attack by predators, such as hyenas. As pride leaders age, younger, stronger males take their place. Their lifespan is 10 to 14 years!

The Rhino - their Lifespan is 35 to 50 year with an average body mass of > 1000 kg, rhinos spend > 1/3 of day (and much of night) eating.

Waterbuck from Akagera National Park : The defassa waterbuck is a large, robust animal with long, shaggy hair and a brown-gray coat that emits an oily secretion from its sweat glands, which acts as a water repellent. They do, however, head into the water when danger threatens.
