Fátima is one of the key centers for the Cult of the Virgin Mary in Portugal and the Sanctuary annually welcomes hundreds of thousands of pilgrims and tourists, from all over the world, coming to participate in the celebrations that commemorate the apparitions of Our Lady to the three young shepherds of Fátima. It is the most visited place in Portugal A typical fishing town, Nazaré is also a very pleasant summer resort since the beginning of the 20th century. The Nazaré North Cannon it's one of the largest submarine canyons in Europe and its presence creates special conditions for giant waves, over than 30ft high There is a small Benedictine sanctuary in the top of a cliff, the Sítio. Here we can admire the city and the ocean, it is really amazing Óbidos In the monarchy times, it use to be known as the City of the Queens. Inside the 13th Century walls, this Medieval city still has the trace elements of the ancient societies and cultures which made from Óbidos one of the most beautiful places in Portugal
Your Lisbon tour itinerary
We will go directly from Lisboa to Fátima, then Nazaré for lunch and Obidos in the afternoon. In Fátima, the religious feeling is very strong, the size of the Sanctuary makes us feel very small. Here you can have your time and visit also the Chapel and the Cathedral Nazaré is a lovely little fishing village, where the imposing presence of the sea and the relationship of men with it are a constant; here, the best fish and the best seafood comes directly from the boats to the restaurants' grills and it is the ideal place to have lunch! Óbidos, the City of the queens There is a castle in the top, where we will start the discovery of the city inside the old stone walls. Coming down the hill, passing by the old medieval houses and streets, we will finish in downtown, right in time to have a coffee and a Ginginha(a local fruit based liqueur) And now, back to Lisboa -It is possible to customize the tour if you want, just let me know your preferences and we will work on it
