NOTE : A CERTIFICATE TOURIST GUIDE has been educated in a higher education level for at least 3 years in order to be able to present in an accurate way all the historical facts and bring to life the history of each place, connecting it with life in modern Portugal , when offer his/her services to the visitors. Choosing to have a guided tour with an officially licensed tourist guide will enhance your experience and provide an in depth presentation. Also the history of each place will be connected that way with the other sites you may visit, so you will have at the end a complete experience while touring around Portugal. No restrictions. Overview of your Lisbon tour
Looking for a day trip out of Lisbon? I've been touring the area for over 20 years and these are just some of my favorite sights to visit in Lisbon area! I love the feeling of traveling to a region where medieval history, seafood, fishing, surfing and good weather can all fit into the same experience! Come and join me on a day tour north of Lisbon to visit Óbidos, a town owned by Queens for 600 years; to see fishermen and surfers mingling in Nazaré, where waves get as high as 100 feet in special times of the year; try the local fish stew, octopus or shellfish and hear the story of Pedro and Inês , often called Romeo and Juliet of Portugal! We'll have fun , take gorgeous pictures and learn a lot about Portugal ! Let's have a wonderful time together!
Your Lisbon tour itinerary
We'll start our day by driving towards Alcobaça: This town houses a blockbuster monument: The spellbinding Monastery of Alcobaça. In 2007 this World Heritage Gothic complex was declared one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. The monument is the final resting place for the 14th-century King Pedro I and his star-crossed lover, Inês de Castro, whose lives were haunted by tragedy. It's now time to drive to Nazaré and enjoy its long sandy half-moon shaped beach, which is also the town's sea front, is known for its grandeur and for the brightly-colored awnings that decorate the white sandy beaches, contrasting with the blue of the water. In Óbidos, and just before we drive back to Lisbon, we'll have a stroll, shop in the local stores and have a sample of cherry liquor! Surrounded by a classic crenelated wall, Óbidos' gorgeous historic centre is a labyrinth of cobblestones streets and flower-bedecked, whitewashed houses. Contact me for customization.
