Welcome to Portugal! I am an australian-born Portuguese living in Lisbon since I was 8 years old. Overview of your Lisbon tour
Ready to discover the colourful city of Lisboa? This tour is perfect for first time visitors who want to learn and experience the city and all it has to offer. Starting at the Castle of St George we overlook the city a great lookout point, stunning photos and where you will be "introduced" to the city, it's history and development. I will show you the original 11th century defensive walls and tower used to protect the city. The castle is well-worth visiting with a guided explanation. Walking down the fun winding streets of Alfama, the old neighbourhood were Fado was born, you will have an idea of medieval Lisbon. I will tell you about the city's traditions. Walking riverfront to the Commerce Square we are officially Downtown and stories of sailors, ships and earthquakes come to mind. Specially the earthquake of 1755 and how it transformed the city. We will visit Chiado neighborhood, to admire the charming boutique shops, theatres and cafes where Portuguese writers and artists used to meet.
