Lisboa's Favourite Food Tour: 10 Tastings and unique flavours!

Diogo was wonderful and this was one of the best things we did in Lisbon! He asks a lot of questions and selects dishes and places that he knows will appeal to you. The places are very local in nature - nothing like the “tourist” spots. I highly recommend you try this - you will be so glad you did !

This was an excellent tour. We did it on our first day shortly after arriving in the country and it was a perfect way to start our adventures in Lisbon and Portugal as it helped us get a real feel for the city, the culture, the history, and the food in the area. It allowed us to explore the city on our own during the rest of our trip with much greater confidence and understanding now that we know the area and the food much better. Diogo was a fantastic guide in every way possible. He was professional, knowledgeable, and helpful, but also fun and great company. It honestly felt more like exploring Lisbon with a friend than with a stranger. He also quickly developed a sense of our tastes and what we might enjoy, adapting the selections to make sure that we had the best possible experience. The tour itself was excellent and we tried so many unique and delicious dishes, far more than we expected, and we loved getting the chance to experience eating in several small restaurants filled with locals rather than tourists, and getting a more authentic introduction to Portugal. Diogo also eagerly answered our many questions about the city and was happy to give us really helpful advice and suggestions for the rest of our time both in Lisbon and elsewhere in Portugal. His thoughts and suggestions helped improve the rest of our adventures in the country as well. As a bonus, I was grateful for his knowledge of local Portuguese authors and I appreciated his suggestions of some great books to read, even helping me find an English translation of one I was interested in at the famous Livraria Bertrand, the world’s oldest bookstore, operating since 1732, in between stops to taste local dishes. This tour was everything we hoped for and more, and Diogo surpassed our expectations as a guide. If it was possible to give him 6 stars, we definitely would. Beyond the incredible food, we also learned so much about Lisbon’s history, culture, and traditions along the way. Diogo was an amazing tour guide and we had an amazing day learning from him and eating our way around Lisbon. My family of 7 took his food tour in April 2026 and he really took the time in the beginning to connect with us all before beginning to tailor the experience around us.
