Join me on this full-day private tour of Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and journey through time and tradition. Discover the vibrant history of Alentejo's capital, with over 20 centuries of heritage dating back to the Celtic era. Let me guide you through Évora’s rich Roman and Medieval heritage, seamlessly woven into modern life. This charming city stands as one of Portugal’s key hubs for wine and olive oil production, offering visitors a warm welcome with its authenticity and tranquil atmosphere. Savor the local gastronomy, a story in its own right, which I’ll share with you along the way. Explore the medieval castle and village of Monsaraz, perfectly preserved within its ancient walls, offering breathtaking views of Alqueva, one of Europe’s largest artificial lakes. To top it off, we’ll visit one of the region’s renowned family wineries—my personal favorite—where some of Portugal’s finest wines are crafted.
Your Lisbon tour itinerary
After the pickup we will head directly to Évora, about 1h30m drive. Once we get there we will leave the car and walk through the small city centre to the main attractions, Roman Temple, Cathedral, Bones Chapel, Giraldo's Square, etc. Depending on your preferences lunch can be in Evora or Monsaraz, a beautifully preserved medieval village at just 45 minutes from Évora and a personal favorite. After Monsaraz we will visit one of the typical wine estates of the region, where we can visit and taste some of the exquisite wines produced in the region. Please note that the order of the visits may be altered due to Lunch options and/or more favorable visiting hours for the attractions/monuments. The Itineraries described are standard for this tour. Depending on group size and availability our transports are always made on a premium sedan/estate (Mercedes E or equilavent) or a Mercedes Van. All cars are equipped with wi-fi, cooler, leather seats, multizone air conditioning and privacy windows. Altough the maximum capacity of the van is 7, we set the maximum number to 5 so that the middle seats are not taken and there's more room. If your group is larger than 5 please contact us so we can create a customized tour.
